2009 Research and Design Website Challenge
Imagine an everyday simple task like brushing your teeth or tying your shoes, tasks which most of us take for granted. However for millions of people who have lost a limb or been deprived of one or more of their senses, this is not the case.
The 2009 Challenge
2009’s R&D Website Challenge was to:
- Select and focus on a specific area of interest such as: eye, inner ear, hand, upper arm, lower leg, foot.
- Describe the current state of bionic, robotics prostheses (artificial part made to replace or augment a missing part) for the chosen area.
- Discuss future direction and goals of the technology.
- Give ideas and designs for creating a bionic prosthesis
