Powerful Technology
Smart Robots and the CBC2 Robot Controller
Botball uses the CBC2, a powerful robot controller developed by the KISS Institute for Practical Robotics for university research programs and the Botball competition.
For beginners, the CBC features a simple user interface controlled by an integrated touch-screen display and interfaces easily with a variety of sensors and effectors. Experts will appreciate the ARM9 CPU, Linux based OS, and integrated vision system.
For details, see the CBC Product Page.
Real-World Programming
The robots in Botball are always autonomous - no remote control is used. Instead, students learn to program their robots using C, the most widely used programming language in industry and academia. Botball gives students the tools to develop sophisticated strategies using artificial intelligence with embedded systems.
Additionally, Botball students submit documentation that details the design of their software as a required part of the competition.
“Botball is the premiere autonomous robot contest.”
