2010 Northern California Alliance Challenge
Alliance Challenge Rescheduled for 24 April, 2010
The Alliance Challenge has been rescheduled. It will take place on 24 April, 2010, concurrent with the Northern California Botball tournament.
The Alliance Challenge is an optional event that gives Botball teams the opportunity to combine forces with another team. During the Challenge, teams will work together in pairs in a competition patterned after the Botball seeding rounds.
Accept the Challenge!
Any registered team may choose to participate in the Alliance Challenge. It does not matter how you place in the Botball tournament. There is no extra registration fee for participating in the Challenge and preregistration is not required.
How the Alliance Challenge Works
The Alliance Challenge is similar to the Botball seeding rounds, with a few differences:
- Paired teams will work together to score points. Robots can start in either or both starting boxes, and at the end of the round, the scores from both sides are combined.
- Each team in the alliance may bring only ONE robot to the table for a total of two robots per alliance per round. Both teams may choose their Create robot if they wish.
- Each alliance will get to perform twice, and the higher of the two scores will count for the final score.
- The alliance with the highest final score will win first place.
- All of the same construction and game rules from the Botball Tournament apply.
- Trophies will be awarded for: 1st Place Alliance, 2nd Place Alliance, 3rd Place Alliance, and Judges’ Choice.
