Deadline Extended for International Botball Tournament Robot Glamour Shots and Robot/Team Bios
The deadline for submitting International Botball Tournament Robot Glamour Shots and Team and Robot Bios for inclusion on the GCER Conference Proceedings CD has been extended until 11:55am CDT on Monday, June 23, 2008. Don’t miss out on having your team team included!
- IBT Robot Glamour Shot — Images should be at least 1024x768 pixels, and the background should not be cluttered with irrelevant objects. Consider an “action” pose with Botball surroundings or a clean “studio” background. You may upload up to two images.
- IBT Team and Robot Bio — Write a short (one or two paragraph) description of your team and your robots. Your submission should be 250 words or less. Make sure to include the name of your school ( or other sponsoring organization), as well as the names of your robots. Your school may have a privacy policy on the publication of student information. Make sure your Team and Robot Bio complies with this policy.

Don’t forget to submit your paper or robotic showcase proposal by noon CDT on Friday, June 6. Not only is this an educational opportunity but also a chance for submitters of accepted papers to receive 5 dollars off their GCER registration.

Deadline for Peer Reviewed Submissions for GCER Extended to April 30
The deadline for submitting papers for peer review to the Special Session on Research on Robotics in STEM Education at the 2008 Global Conference on Educational Robotics has been extended to 30 April 2008.

NCER Highlights will be shown on NASA TV - THIS WEEK!
The brand new Botball highlight video made during the 2007 National Conference on Educational Robotics will start airing this month on NASA TV! If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the Botball video gallery.
Here’s the schedule (all times are Eastern):
- Saturday, August 25: 1:28am, 10:33am & 2:28pm
- Sunday, August 26: 1:28am, 10:33am & 2:28pm
- Monday, August 27: 1:28am & 10:33am
The video will air on a similar schedule for the remainder of the month of August and through the beginning of September.
It’s a fantastic video and we are really excited that so many people will get a chance to see what Botball and the National Conference are all about - Thank you, NASA!

Botball has a new video highlighting the events during the 2007 National Conference on Educational Robotics in Honolulu. The video, funded by the NASA Robotics Alliance Project (Botball’s Diamond Circle Sponsor) for NASA TV, features interviews with team leaders, students, and sponsors - and exciting footage of the 2007 International Botball Tournament and Beyond Botball Tournament (Botball for grownup kids!).
